Access Control Administrator (Contract) (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 12 December 2017
Nice place to work and stay for longer time. TTC is very diversified work environment. There are people pretty much from every part of the world. Its a very nice and respectable place to work. I have enjoyed my time at TTC.
Station Ambassador (Former Employee) – Toronto, On – 15 August 2017
Working with the Toronto Transit was amazing. I got to meet new people and see lots of different tourist who came to Canada especially around the time of the Pan-Am games. Lastly, the management team was wonderful and treated their employees with respect. They always made sure that safety was their number one priority and ensure that we were well hydrate during extreme hot weather. In return of our successful customer service we were guratneed a position every summer as long as we were in school full-time.
Customer Information Representative (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 28 July 2017
Has great pay and benefits, depending on what department you're in it is hard to advance. Fellow employees are great to work with, make the work environment easier to handle. Management is good and for the most part willing to listen to new ideas or issues anyone may have had. Some managers are difficult and rude.
Fellow employees are great to work with, able to volunteer for different activities
computers are really old and slow, phone system extremely old and phones break down every so often.
Good wages & average benefits (gets worse as the years go by)
Transportation Operations (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 27 July 2017
Company still working with old technology and terrible people skills especially the management to upper management staff. The company does not understand the importance or work / life balance and still create many of their own issues with scheduling, terrible management practices and mis-management of funds.
TTC not built to handle the volume of population growth that it is now. Many improvements still needed in transportation, station and security upgrades.
You need to change all of it and leave out the political obstructions.
wages & benefits (pension if is remains for the future)
Long hours, no work life balance until 15+ years or over, poor management practices (threatening, intimidation, very little flexibility to help anyone other than themselves), huge sacrifices with social life & family life, uncertainty with securing jobs now & for the future
Focus on the company and your individual experience while employed there
Driver/Operator (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 24 July 2017

Their wage and benefits are very good.
Their Routating shifts are a bit difficult to work
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Toronto – 19 June 2017
This job was through an agency so it is not a review of the TTC. However it was a physically and mentally difficult job. You are expected to do this job through the winter (standing outside in -20 degree conditions). Briefing of rerouting of the transport systems are not done properly.
Senior QA Analist (Consultant) (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 25 May 2017
Had the opportunity to work with many different internal and external organizations. Learned a lot about public transit operations and Accessibility considerations. Unpredictable schedule at times due to the nature of the project.
Front Line Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 6 May 2017
Heavy preference towards "experienced" employees. It doesn't make sense that they would hire new people, if they don't intend to give them hours. This is very frustrating but the job itself is very self-explanatory.
Good pay, responsive staff
Long Hours, Unreliable shift scheduling, Not for someone looking for consistent work
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 11 April 2017
Excellent CEO. Excellent Training. Excellent co-workers. Great benefits. Stressful but you get paid what you're worth. Gained exceptional skill sets that are transferable to any other job. Management is fair and productive.
