The Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance Testing at the Toronto General Hospital is looking to hire ONE full-time, permanent employee to fill the positions of Vestibular Technician, Vestibular Equipment Specialist and Vestibular Research Associate. The job will include 0.5 research-focused work, and 0.5 clinical testing, software development and equipment maintenance.
Testing duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Vestibular evoked myogenic potentials
-Computerized rotational chair testing
-Vestibular head impulse testing
Research duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Leading research projects that primarily revolve around vestibular investigation.
-Patient selection and testing
-Creating study protocols and REB submissions
-Contributing to the writing and editing process of papers submitted for publication
Equipment maintenance duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Software development for updated computerized rotational chair testing
-Development of a clinical system for the measurement of ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials
-Maintenance of existing equipment for all vestibular testing
The successful applicant will have cross-disciplinary knowledge in vestibular science, medicine, computer science, and engineering.
Computer skills will include cross-platform programming experience including iOS, OSX, Windows OS (XP, Vista and Windows 7). Familiarity with XCode, Arduino and iOS devices is essential. Experience in auditory biofeedback would be of value, including the development of biofeedback devices and the clinical application of these devices. A history of successful patent applications or experience in the patent applications process will be of considerable value.
PAY: $62,000.00 annually
