Great work and people, poor compensation
Mechanical Designer (Former Employee) –  Paris, ON23 October 2017
Spent the beginning of my working career here, it's good place to go straight out school to learn engineering and prepares young engineers for their long term career once they leave the company. However advancement is almost non-existent. They say pay raises are performance based, but you could pull 80 hour weeks every week to get projects done and no one would notice. The only real way to get a pay raise at Tigercat is to leave the company once they've taught you the ins and outs of engineering. I liked the people and the owner, but liking the people doesn't pay the bills for a single income home. In engineering at Tigercat, you get the impression that you are second class behind the guys in the shop, the shop floor guys definitely have it pretty good, and engineering does seem to be ignored next to them.
Pros
Great culture and working environment. Lots of hands on opportunities for engineering
Cons
Hard work goes unnoticed, moderate but not great pay

International Sales Administrator (Former Employee) –  Brantford, ON13 June 2017
This company is like working with your family, great people but the greatest asset is the owner, a great human being that treats his workers like family and wants the best for them.

Lots of lay offs and favouritism. Poor place to work
Assembly Line Worker (Former Employee) –  Cambridge, ON24 March 2017
Terrible place to work. Favouritism for certain employees . People hiding in bathroom doing drugs . Tell people they are temporarily laid off and two weeks later say no it's permanent after repeating again and again it's only temporary. Run like a dog in this plant and hard work not appreciated unless one of the favorite people. Not sure if all the plants are the same. I'm speaking about one that I know of
Pros
Wages were okay and benefits too.
Cons
Lay offs

Good working environment provided by a generous and fair management
General Labourer (Former Employee) –  Cambridge, ON10 March 2017
Working in this forestry equipment manufacturing company is a blast! Employee friendly atmosphere. Management takes good care of everyone. Very generous with social events like employee BBQs, company sponsored summer picnic, lavish christmas parties as well as christmas parties for employees children and families. Working around steel fabrication can be hard and full of safety concerns but such issues are rigorously addressed. Work is challenging but manageable. I was mostly taken by the generosity of the companys owner and CEO

Great place to work
Mechanical Designer (Former Employee) –  Cambridge, ON2 April 2014
Not exactly a sociable place, everyone keeps to their work, but general atmosphere is pretty good. Designing and working on big machines is quite fun. I wish I had a better co-op experience and lived closer to be able to go back.
Pros
Great pay, benefits and work
Cons
Depressing atmosphere in the office sometimes.
