This position would be consistent with the role expected from Intermediate Materials Management Coordinator working in the Oil and Gas industry in an Engineering and Procurement capacity. Depending on specific work requirements, all or any of the below tasks may apply:

  • Perform tasks within the Procurement Department in a Materials Coordinator capacity, responsible for the ethical material management coordination
  • Manage, coordinate and administrate materials to ensure schedules as met
  • Confirm Inventory of Materials with Suppliers as necessary
  • Update Materials Management System as required
  • Develop and maintain Materials management System activities including assisting with input to monthly project reports for construction progress and status of materials
  • Transfer Surplus inventory to satisfy shortages at fabrication shops and site
  • Identify and resolve material deficiencies as required
  • Generate material release pick tickets and work with Expediting to coordinate ship of materials to fabrication shops and site
  • Generate bulk Material Requisitions and P.O. Bills of Materials for Piping materials, Specialty Items and Equipment where necessary
  • Review Reports for potential surplus or shortages of materials and initiate corrective action when discrepancies are identified
  • Work with Suppliers, Project Personnel to resolve any overages, shortages and damages
  • Ensure that all Materials Management procedures are carried out as per Client specifications and requirements
  • Monitor Supplier delivery and quality performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Attend project meetings when required
  • Build positive and effective working relations

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor Degree or/and Diploma is an asset
  • Over 3 years of materials management experience on Pipeline/SAGD industrial projects within a construction environment is an asset
  • PMAC membership and seminars is an asset
  • Work experience in EPCM is an advantage
  • Excellent skills in technical, analytical, organizational and interpersonal
  • Outstanding ability to handle and manage competently and confidently the operational, technical and commercial issues in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated capability for achieving results through planning and execution
  • Must be highly motivated, very organized and have the ability to work independently in a team environment
