Assistant Sales Manager (Current Employee) – Port Louis – 7 May 2015
I've enjoyed my tenure here and learned a lot. The team spirit is so good which made you enjoy your day. A small team which is keen to go way beyond what is expected from them. Management should really focus on staff concerns and act accordingly. Need to work on a good software for all proper recordings and reports.
Chef / 1st Cook (Former Employee) – Rhodes, Southern Aegean, Greece – 7 March 2015
Typical day at Fino A la Carte Kitchen was a minimum seating of 250 guests only fine a la carte dining that could reach up to 400 guests between 19:00 - 21:30 hrs. Attention to detail, high standard service, time management, synergy. Limited space. Good collaboration of the kitchen team.
This company has really great supervisors and management for the most part, the co-workers are fantastic to work with, hours vary so no steady work hours you must be flexible. Salary is not that great and there isn't any raises, you can do pretty good on commission if you really push yourself to your limits, Rules are extremely important and most be followed.
Low season can be nerving not sure if your hours will be cut
Great environment for a Coop Student in Human Resources
HR Coop intern for Thomas Cook Group (Former Employee) – Toronto, Ontario – 7 November 2013
I worked in the HR depart for four months and at the end wished I could have stayed longer. However, my short time was over and I had to move on to a full time role. The leadership was strong, consistent and they lived up to all that was promised. They gave me opportunities to actually function in an active role as a recruiter, following the process from beginning to end. Compared to most of my classmates who had little or nothing to do over their coop period.
The group of people who worked in the HR department. Their inclusiveness, shared work ethics and generousity in given a student the opportunity to contribute to the group
Senior Developer (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 4 July 2013
A typical day at work starts with checking emails and attend meeting if scheduled and discuss project progress with team lead and project manager. I got chance to work on different third party API and work in very good environment. Management is really good and supportive.
Wouldn't work for them ever again..nasty working conditions
Travel Agent (Former Employee) – Burnaby, BC – 20 June 2013
Work scheduling is hard if you are a single parent. If you are sick or on holidays your clients get stolen and you lose commission, so you end up taking you client files with you t o keep you clients and risk being reprimanded for it. Unattainable commission goals for junior staff, which are not trained properly. Wage is not compatible with cost of living. Co-workers are mean and snotty. Look down on the junior reps. They don't protect their employees from clients who verbally and physically assault them. Instead of an annual bonus they gave us a book on the history of Thomas Cook.
