Thinking Forward is a Toronto-based charity whose vision is to help children and youth make choices that develop character to build stronger communities in Toronto. We offer creative learning programs for children and leadership training for youth, with themes focused upon nurturing positive character attributes. Thinking Forward has been firmly established over the last two years through partnerships with priority schools and various organizations along with increasing impact in the lives of those we serve. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Thinking Forward is looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude and strong research and written communication skills to help us with grant applications. The grant writer will be responsible for researching and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*research potential grant opportunities from organizations that align with the mission and values of Thinking Forward
*assemble and submit grant applications that include all necessary components which can include (but are not limited to) reference letters, proposals, budgets, etc. in a timely manner
*connect with grant-making foundations and organizations to solicit feedback and establish positive working relationships
*report directly to co-founders of Thinking Forward to update on status of specific grant applications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:
*a proven track record of successfully securing grants for other non-profit organizations
*excellent organization and time management skills as meeting deadlines will be an integral part of the process
*excellent written, analytical and research skills
*be highly self-motivated and detail-oriented
