Engraver (Current Employee), Cambridge, ONNovember 21, 2012
I would come in and make sure that all the engravings where done that need to be done.
I would then catch everyone up on orders and work the engraver all day along with organize the engravings that are done.
I would then close the store at the end of the day and go home.

Engraving Happiness
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Jersey City, NJAugust 21, 2014
This job was great. With any customer service job there is always a good part and a bad part. This job however had so many more good parts. I would engrave personalized messages onto gifts for loved ones or friends. It helped you connect with people on a different level. You were always bringing a smile to someones face even though majority of the time – more... you wouldn't see it. The important part was that you were still doing it. I learned how to use the machines to engrave pictures, names, quotes and designs. I either opened or closed the store everyday. I never had a better manager than at Things Remembered. To this day my old manager still inspires me to go for my dreams and excel in life. Overall this job was a blessing. – less

Awesome Comany
Store Manager (Former Employee), Fayetteville, ARAugust 20, 2014
Pros: working with some amazing people, benefits are good
Cons: no breaks unless you are working with other employees and it is scheduled
I started working for this company as an Assistant Manager and progressed to Store Manager. You learn a lot with this company, customer service being the biggest. You learn to have a lot of patience and it makes you have better customer service with your customers! The hardest part of the job was working with upset customers, the most enjoyable was – more... ALL customers and making their memories so memorable! – less

Store Manager (Former Employee), Bloomington, ILAugust 14, 2014
Pros: nice customers looking for great occasional gifts ... fun. to help and they have great stories
Cons: single coverage and 3-6 hrs per wk for sales assoc
Nice job if you like dealing directly with the public ... Great products and good company ... Kiosk is small and very boring when working times with no current occasion ... 3 - 6 hrs per wk for sales associates and mostly single coverage !!! That's really the only negatives otherwise nice easy customer service type sales job ... Management could use – more... more help and training communicating with store employees – less

Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Eatontown, NJAugust 1, 2014
Cons: everything about the company
Promoted to ASM within the first week of being there because the current ASM was getting her own store. The store manager has no idea how to effectively manage.
Will not accomodate injuries.

part-time keyholder (Former Employee), Mifflin, PAJuly 30, 2014
Pros: spending time with the residents who very often had some very inteseting stories to share
Cons: on street parking. they had no empoyee parking.
A typical day included administering medications to the residents of this assisted living facility. It also required assisting residents with bathing, dressing and light housekeeping. Sometimes I worked a unit alone, but most often you had a partner that made the day more interesting. Management was very friendly and easy to talk to if you had any problems.

Retail/Customer Service (Former Employee), Wayne, NJJuly 26, 2014
Pros: 40% discounts on any item
Cons: short breaks
On a regular day at work I learn a lot as I go. My Manager teaches me how to multitask and help out more than 2 customers at once. My manager was like a big sister to me, she helped me and recognize my good work and got on me if i slipped. My Co workers were funny and very energetic, we never had any disagreements no arguments. I am a peoples person – more... I love to make new friends or associates. The hardest part of my job is engraving when i had to used the machine i was very nervous because I didn't want to mess up on the object. The most enjoyable part of my job is making the customer happy. – less

Great place to go for personalized gifts
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Whitehall Township, PAJuly 21, 2014
A typical day working at Things Remembered was pretty calm, with the exception of the holiday seasons. The management was great; they are willing to work with you, they're understanding, and more than willing to teach you how to engrave during free-time. My co-workers were good as well. The hardest part of the job was keeping yourself busy on a very – more... slow day after everything was already done. The most enjoyable part of the job was the gratitude you receive from a customer, after helping them make what they feel is the hardest decision of their life, when trying to choose the perfect gift with the perfect inscription. – less
