Coordinate scope of work with other disciplines.
Prepare certificates of compliance for electrical equipment.
Coordinate work between office, shop and other engineering disciplines.
Work assignments will be directed by project Team Leader
Design of Power, Lighting and basic control systems.
Cable Tray Design - plan and elevations.
Heat Tracing calculations.
Cable System Block diagrams.
Preparation of Data Sheets and Material Take-offs.
Motor control design
Knowledge of Hazardous Area Classification development.
Single Line Diagram development.
Review of technical specifications and selection of electrical equipment and material
Assist design/drafting department as required.
Prepare documentation for manuals and assist with manual assembly when necessary.
Assist other departments with bid preparation.
Capable of working with little minor supervision
Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge in low voltage distribution systems (motor control)
Familiarity with IEC Standards is an asset
Knowledge of other disciplines (i.e. instrumentation or control systems).
Interpretation of electrical and control connection requirements utilizing P&ID’s.
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 7 years experience in Oil and Gas Electrical Engineering
Fabrication plant experience would be an asset.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Technology Program
Requires work to be performed in both our fabrication shop and office however the bulk is office based and computer oriented. Inter-department communication is a large requirement for this position therefore it is essential to possess good communication skills. In addition deadlines are very important hence ability to prioritize workloads is essential. Office space is located in a cubicle area therefore there is the possibility of space being shared with a colleague in a similar discipline and care must be taken to keep the space shareable.
