RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning travel schedules and routes using maps and trip planning aids
  • Maintaining records of pick-ups of donations
  • Maintaining record keeping for vehicles and maintaining vehicle logs
  • Unloading/sorting donations at the warehouse in appropriate space provided
  • Performing pre/post trip inspection of company vehicle
  • Maintaining vehicle with proper levels of fuel, tire pressure, and cleanliness
  • Recording trip information such as mileage, fuel costs, and any problems encountered
  • Assisting with warehouse duties that align with the mission of the program and The Salvation Army
  • Demonstrating a pleasant manner with the public

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should:

  • Have completed High School, plus specialized courses of up to six (6) months. An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable
  • Successfully pass a Police Security Clearance Check and Child Intervention Check
  • Have a minimum of 1 year’s previous driving experience
  • Have valid Class 5 driver’s license and provide a current clean drivers abstract; knowledge of Calgary street locations and layout would be a definite asset
  • Be able to organize time and daily schedule efficiently
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have a current First Aid/ CPR equivalent to St John’s Standard First Aid/ Level A or C CPR
