The Salvation Army London Village is a Christian Community dedicated to providing support to families through:

  • Child Care Programs for children from birth to 12 years
  • Respite Programs for people with intellectual disabilities
  • Adult Day Programs for seniors with Alzheimer Disease or related dementias

Part Time position: 24 hrs. per week, Tuesday-Friday 10am -4:30 pm

Qualifications:
High school diploma, plus specialized courses of up to six month minimum.
A minimum of three (3) months of prior experience, including administrative experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Accounting experience in a computerized environment using ACCPAC accounting software.
Typing speed of 50 words per minute
Ability to apply effective body mechanics and meet the physical demands of the position
Demonstrated ability to follow directives and to be self- motivated
Superior attention to detail and ability to multi task in fast paced environment
Proven ability to set priorities and manage time efficiently
Self-motivated and disciplined
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience/Working knowledge in word processing; data base and spread sheet use preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ACCESS
Provide an original copy of a Criminal Records Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector screening secured through
either the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment; Note: A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
Screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.
Support for and commitment to the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.

Responsibilities:
Perform general office duties such as receive and direct telephone calls, respond to general inquiries; greet and direct visitors
File documents electronically or manually
Photocopy and distribute materials as requested
Send and receive fax/email material as requested.
Receive and process in coming and out-going mail.
Shipping and receiving as required.
Provide assistance and general information to clients/families about programs.
Record and transcribe meeting minutes with accuracy.
Ensure proper formatting and accurate word processing of reports, policies, correspondence and statistics.
Retrieve and process referrals from electronic portals.
Process transit requests for services and provide updated lists to staff.
Coordinate the distribution of client discharge surveys.
Provide general technical and office equipment assistance to staff.
Submit payroll records on a biweekly basis.
Order and distribute stationary/office supplies.
Enter client referral, admission and discharge information into the ACCESS data base and maintain accuracy.
Produce client intake packages for all ADP programs and services.
Prepare monthly/quarterly statistical reports and submits to Director.
Produce and distribute monthly invoices using ACCPAC software program.
Receive record, issue temporary receipts for client payments and submit to Business Office weekly.
Photo copies and collates monthly client newsletter.
Assist in the production of print/electronic materials/publications.
Participate in team meetings and on committees as assigned.
Participate in media related events as required.
Develop an understanding of the Mission of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities and support the Mission in all aspects of work, including the manner in which responsibilities are fulfilled.
Maintain information in confidence as required.
Assist the ADP Program Director and coworkers in creating and maintaining a high quality, stand alone, community program suitable for providing varying levels of care to program participants.
Participate in CQI initiatives.
Represent the organization in a professional and engaging manner.
Participate in probationary and annual performance appraisal process.
Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Perform other position related duties as required.
