The Power Place is looking to fill a Gas Technician position for work throughout eastern Ontario. The position is full time.

Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for installing and servicing residential and commercial propane and natural gas related equipment under 400,000 BTUs. The Service Technician will also be accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the service and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance. The Service Technician will also collaborate with the Manager on a regular and consistent basis for scheduling information and to provide feedback on issues encountered and obtain instructions in relation to day to day activities.

Key Objectives:
Install and service residential and commercial propane and natural gas related equipment. This will include, but is not limited to repairs, inspections, the installation and service of propane and natural gas appliances. Provide preventative maintenance solutions, and scheduled maintenance, to residential customers.

Safe operation service vehicles required to perform installations and service calls.

Maintain request and stock service truck with inventory. Ensure all necessary parts, materials and supplies, and equipment and available to perform daily work orders and meet customer requests.

Collect customer signature/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Implement lock out procedures on unsafe residential customer installations.

Accurately prepare and submit daily service work orders to the Manager.

Conduct and maintain the highest standard of safety in all activities and operations ensuring compliance with the regulatory bodies and relevant regulations. This includes conducting and, if applicable documenting, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and service inspections.

Collaborate with the Manager frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Manager of any service, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.

‪Collaborate with the Manager and inform them of any successes, issues or challenges encountered. Obtain their approval for overtime and submit hours worked on a timely basis weekly.

Provide exceptional customer service by promoting the company and its products and services positively and maintaining good customer relations.

Seek, identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by providing product information, brochures with basic price and a contact number.

Gas Technician performs multiple functions in response to changing needs in the area, and performs the following functions:

Specific Skills:
High school diploma.

Minimum one (1) year of related experience.

Valid Class G driver's license, and clean driver's abstract.

Provincial gas fitter certification and record of training is required.

Excellent knowledge of the B149 Code.

Good physical condition and ability to regularly lift heavy objects.
