Opportunity with Integrative/Alternative Medical Centre
We are a well established medical centre practicing Integrative, Functional and Anti-Aging Medicine in Calgary. We are looking for a full-time, inspired and committed individual who is a highly organized and detail orientated with excellent communication skills to work and manage our reception area. This person must have leadership qualities, previous experience in medical reception/management and have a deep self-interest or experience in alternative medical practices.
Under general supervision and direction, this position provides support to the clinic physician, a clinical nurse manager and multiple support staff. The medical reception manager responds to the daily flow of a busy medical centre and directly oversees and coordinates the activities of two other medical receptionists (one full time and one part time staff). The incumbent is accountable to the senior management of the centre for the efficient running of all front desk and client-related activities.
MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES – In this role, you function as a key liaison between the doctor and the patients. This is a fast changing environment where creativity and constant improvements are required. You are responsible for greeting and directing patients on arrival, preparing charts, following up with patients about test and treatment results, answering phone inquiries from patients, booking appointments, providing supplements, explaining individual health programs and treatments to patients, and calling in prescriptions to pharmacies.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
- Interested in a career in integrative or alternative medical management
- A person who thrives in an active client service role
- Experienced with 3-5 years in public relations and management in a private service industry
- Medical reception experience (we will only interview those individuals with this experience)
- Medical filing and charting experience
THE MOST SUCCESSFUL PERSON FOR THIS ROLE – Must maintain a consistent, clear focus throughout the day and understand the balance between the centre’s focus and patients values and desires. This person should operate with integrity, be a good listener and be committed to patients’ health and well being. They should be open to new protocols and ideas in alternative therapies and passionate about supporting patients on their journey to optimum health. This person will have leadership skills and have a deep desire or knowledge of integrative or alternative medical practices.
