The FGCA is a non-profit charitable society run by a board of directors in the Fairfield Gonzales area of the City of Victoria. We operate a community centre, 2 off site out of school care centres, youth outreach and employ youth and family counselors in school district #61. The community development coordinator position is designed to enhance the sustainability of the association and its programs through fund development and volunteer engagement.
This is an on-going, salary-based position based on a 37.5 hour work week which included some weekend and evening work responsibilities. This portfolio reports directly to the Executive Director of the Fairfield Gonzales Community Association.
Compensation and Benefits : Initial wage range between $19—$21 depending on experience, two weeks paid vacation and extended health benefits after three month probation period.
Position Overview
The community development coordinator is tasked to:
 Implement a coordinated marketing and branding strategy for agency
 Support Board Fund Development Committee and provide direct support of fundraising initiatives within the agency’s strategic goals
 Responsible for ongoing maintenance of donor relationships and donation database
 Lead person for FGCA community events such as Fall Fairfield and our annual fundraising event
 Serve as primary contact for management of volunteers for the agency

Qualifications
 Experience in volunteer management, non-profit boards, donor development, fundraising and event coordination.
 Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills essential.
 First aid certificate and relevant special events credentials (serving it right, food safe) an asset.
 Relevant post secondary degree, diploma or certification.
 Site specific criminal record check required.
