Working within the Information Services, and reporting to the Manager of Telecommunications, this position specializes in the day-to-day support of the corporate data and voice network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, firewalls, phones systems, voice and data lines, wireless, mobile devices, responding to trouble tickets, moves adds and change requests. Other responsibilities include participation in project work, designing and deploying new networking technologies. A strong emphasis is placed on the industry best practices, with a focus on security and high availability.


  • Respond to network outages, system and business generated trouble tickets, moves adds and changes requests
  • Configure, install and perform software and hardware upgrades on network infrastructure components including Cisco IOS switches, routers, access points, phones systems and other components
  • Work with telecom vendors to support over 400 site to site data lines, and well over a thousand voice trunk lines
  • Produce required documentation, including system maintenance procedures, network diagrams
  • Work with Cisco TAC, and telecom vendors to solve issues as needed
  • May be required to work variable hours and rotational on-call duties in a 24x7 environment


  • Related university degree or technical diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive voice and data communications experience
  • Experience and working knowledge in the design, installation and ongoing support of network/data communication technologies and protocols; i.e., LAN & WAN technologies, Firewalls, Load Balance technology, Data networking, VOIP systems
  • Cisco certifications in voice and data networking would be a positive indicator of achievement and knowledge
  • Experience with Cisco Call Center would be an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  • Highly self-motivated and directed; able to work with minimal supervision
