On a typical day, I helped with the setup at the venue for a wedding breakfast and it was a nice experience. The clients provided the set up plan layout and then the team and I brought it into reality. At the end, the room looked very welcoming and beautiful and the wedding couple and their guest all liked what they saw.
During my experience at the – more... Boathouse, I learnt how the wedding planner consults with the clients and how to proceed by contacting suppliers and the team about the coming event and what needs to be done, how many staff needed for the occasion which depends normally on the size of the event.

the hardest part of the job is when the is lack of communication and as a new person, it was hard to keep up at the beginning

I have worked at The Boathouse for close to four years. It's incredibly fast-paced and steady throughout the year. I was a hostess/admin. assistant and the hours were never sparse, the management is amazing and it was a very important job to have. I have always felt like a part of "The Boathouse Family" and was comfortable within the restaurant with – more... the people I worked with. The hardest part of my job was the clientele. The customer base consists of your regular restaurants diners, but with a serious attitude. I am proficient in customer service, and I have never encountered the kind of entitled, rude and demanding guests that this restaurant caters to. However, the setting is beautiful and the food is amazing. I think it is a great place to work, especially if you have thick skin. – less

I learned how to pour drinks and change barrels, i already had experience of cash handling and tills. I got on well with the management as well as the regular customers.
