This is a numbers based organization: you need to ensure you can deliver the numbers. There are people around you to provide assistance and you need to know how to draw on these resources, need to know how to work hard and work smart to ensure you can meet/exceed targets. If you can exceed targets consistently, then bonuses/commissions are uncapped! and you can move up within the organization since it's a small company.

People are very friendly, like a family, again because it's a small organization.

Need to have a thick skin or be able to succeed under high pressure/rejections - you're faced with a lot of no's on the calls, can't let the affect you.

There are morning meetings for personal and professional development, potlucks close to the long weekends, pingpong table, etc...

A very good place to start your career

Overall a fantastic company to launch your career, the management team are very friendly and helpful. I learn so much at Alea, not just from the technical perspective, but also the soft skills and the work ethics. Whether you gonna stay or moving on to next job, the lessons learned at Alea will become an important asset in the future.

I can't say much for the business specialist, but as Data Analyst, I received good training and I can see that the management keep improving in the training process for the reps as well.

It is the place for the hard-working, honest people, you will earn depends on your effort, and there is the path to elevate. To my knowledge, all of the management team were business specialist before.

Business Development Specialist (Former Employee) –  Richmond Hill, ON5 August 2016
When things are good as in the numbers are up everything is great! When the numbers are down management takes away things like go home early bonuses and extracurricular activities. This job is cold calling businesses, sometimes you have a contact name and sometimes you don't. If you have sales experience then this is the job for you! The training they provide is mostly just about specifics of what you will be pitching. Very little training goes into how to pitch. For the most part you are instructed to follow a script. After a couple of days, management will give you more information on how to actually sell something and what to say (probably should be covered in training). They will go on the phone with you when you are close to closing a deal.

This position has a very high turnover rate if you don't succeed within the first few weeks you are gone. Employees have meetings at the beginning of the day which are sometimes useful and sometimes are not. Some of the videos being played to the company are completely unrelated to anything and are borderline useless. The morning meetings can consist of a game, video or a lecture from management. Most lectures from management are negative and are used to scare you into working much harder.
