I loved the atmosphere at Fridays, but the management was terrible and they were not very understanding. I was able to build on my serving skills in my short time there. With my expertise in the restaurant business I feel that I could have advanced and flourished.

A typical day at work would begin with slow lunch and a very fast night. I learned that three and four dollars tips do add up. I wish management communicated a little better and treated everyone equally. I loved my co-workers all we did was laugh and work, laugh and work, not to hard I guess. This job lead me to realize all the energy I was putting into it during all my training days I could be getting into something better and serious like secretary work. They handed me a booklet to memorize food and have exams on it. That is not a problem because I am a student and I study and take exams all the time. What really pushed me out was a coworker – more... stole my boots and wallet and management did absolutely nothing to help me figure out who took my things. They also tried to shrug it off like it was nothing but when I was interviewed I had to sign something that I would not steal from my coworkers! That place was a waste of time. – less

Pros: great structure
Cons: not the highest paying job
They have a great structure and rules to adhere to. Although some things may seem silly at first, there is a reason it should be done. They have been in business for over 40 years and there is a reason for that. A system that works. It's a fun atmosphere and great team work. Of course you have the occasional grump that comes in for lunch or dinner but – more... you have the opportunity to turn their day around if you know how to distract them from the outside world with your great service. The management are well trained to the standards of corporate, and they are working managers. They don't just sit around barking orders all day, they get down and help out when you are in the weeds. I enjoyed my two years at T.G.I. Fridays. I felt like I had a second family every shift I worked. My managers were great, and understanding if there were any issues with tables. It was an overall great experience for me and molded me into a very hardworking waiter.
