Mon to Fri 8-4:30 30 min lunch I learned to input payroll hours and data. Co workers were friendly and helpful. Hardest part was trying to get on staff full time as I was currently with a Temp Agency. Most enjoyable part was working with a great company and friendly staff. They showed they were there to help you if you needed it.

Was great company until it went corporate. New management interfering, not really knowing the business. Not a friendly place to work in any more though co-workers still great. Hardest part was watching your back when management (new supervisor and up) were around. Best part was working with team mates.

The people and the shift is what I have come to enjoy the most. The job it self is great, but with the recent down turn in oil/gas the company doesn't seem to be stable. The many cuts to benefits and hours has made moral low.

Working for Tervita as a shop labourer allowed me to work with different trades, and complete different tasks on a daily basis. Job shadowing Heavy-Duty Mechanics being a welder helper, as well as operating equipment in the yard kept the job interesting. Not having the choice to work overtime was unfortunate because of the salary, but all in all a good working environment.

Management at this company are some of the most clueless individuals you will ever meet. Toxic management everyday, ranging from them saying that overtime is non optional, to badmouthing employees in group emails, then claiming they did nothing wrong. Everyone is on one big power trip.

pros: very good benefits, work with current technology, highly safety conscious cons:company has been on the decline for years and is running with mostly a skeleton crew of where it used to be. high stress never knowing if a pink slip is going to be in the mail.
Very unstable place to work. Never know when the next time you were going to get the call to fly out or a pink slip in the mail. Was a very good company when the work was there but could not give you answers when shortages were coming.

I worked there for about 6 months and then the company had to lay off numerous people. I was the newest so I was definitely the first to go. While I was there I had some very good dealings with internal staff. I just wasn't there long enough to make an informed decision on the entire company.

When I started there five years ago,there was potential and movement within. With hard work and drive, one could move up and make a difference. Now there is only middle management that blocks you at every turn, that looks out only for themselves. Upper management isn't much better, with all lay offs and cut backs, a lot of very good people are gone. Now all you have are the self serving narcissists preying on any good people left.
The best thing that could happen to this company, is to be bought out and dismantled. There is value there but not as a whole. Get rid of all the top brass and start fresh, from the owner down.

You will need to take a long view in order to see the fruits. Strategy changes often so it becomes hard to implement changes. Operations does not like to change and find it hard to adapt to fluid economic environment.

The current VP that runs the Production Servicies division is a complete disaster as Donald trump would say, he controls all aspects of the process from HR to Operations and Sales and if you don't report simple tasks directly to him he will melt down like a child. He has no vision or direction for this once proud division. He has gotten rid of all personnel that has questioned his decisions and continues to drive this once great company down. Way over his head!
Some great people left.
One VP that looks after everything that has no ethics and controls all activity is bad for business.
