Terracon is a Canadian consulting firm, wholly owned by its management staff. Established in 1978, the firm diversified and reorganized under the name Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. in 1983. The firm serves Canadian and International clientele primarily in the Oil, Mining, Pipeline and Construction industrial sectors from its headquarters in Calgary and – more... a field office in Fort McMurray. Currently, Terracon employs over 100 in the two offices as well as at a number of client field and office locations.

Our staff of professionals has extensive experience in the disciplines of Geotechnical, Mine, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Geology, and Hydrology. We understand project economics and have experience in production environments. At Terracon we believe that proper planning by experienced competent people with a common goal is the key to completing a successful cost-effective project.

Through our progressive management philosophies, Terracon remains committed to maintaining state-of-the-art technical expertise in this wide range of earth science related disciplines. This is illustrated in Terracon's extensive multi-disciplinary involvement in the development of Northern Alberta's oil sand resources. State-of-the-art techniques in engineering design, research and development capabilities are offered in these disciplines with supporting computer services for projects in Canada and throughout the world.

Other typical assignments have included training, design and project management functions in resource development, groundwater quality and supply, groundwater control, slope stability, waste disposal, instrumentation, monitoring, and environmental assessments.

Terracon has a Safety and Loss Management program, which has been developed by working closely with clients to ensure a proactive environment in all projects. We are very proud to announce that Terracon has renewed its Certificate of Recognition from Alberta Human Resources and Employment.

The company is the winner of Syncrude's President's Award for the "Best Overall Environmental, Health and Safety Performance and Program (small company)" for a second year in a row.
