Edmonton John Howard Society is a community based not for profit crime prevention agency that has been operating in Edmonton since 1949. Our mission is “through our programs and services we work to prevent crime and to help people affected by crime.
In your capacity as the Program Facilitator, you will create, present and evaluate educational and awareness programming for Inmates at the Edmonton Remand Center (ERC). Working in partnership with ERC, the program goals are to create awareness for offenders to assist them upon their release into the community.
The schedule of courses will be:
Monday - Anger Management
Tuesday - Financial Literacy
Wednesday - Resume Development(Half day)
Thursday - Employment Preparation
Friday - Pre-release Planning

The successful candidate should possess:
 Degree in human services or related field
 Ability and willingness to interact with offenders, ex-offenders,
mental health, and multi-barriered clients
 Strong Facilitation skills/ group management
 Experience in program creation and evaluation
 Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
 Strong communication skills, written and oral
 Computer skills; client data base, Word, Excel,
 Knowledgeable in community resources
 Ability to handle clients in crisis
 Knowledge in crisis intervention, suicide prevention and first aid
 Must be self-directed, flexible, team orientated and able to follow
 Pass an Enhanced Criminal Record Check

Compensation: $43,000.00 annually plus benefits
