ABC Head Start offers a comprehensive preschool and family support program for families with low incomes. Operating in 10 locations across Edmonton, our goal is to prepare children for a
successful educational experience in partnership with the family and community. Children in the
ABC Head Start program are from 3½ to 5 years of age.
As the substitute Head Start Teacher, you will work with an inter-disciplinary team of classroom
assistants, social workers, speech language pathologists to provide instruction and classroom
management of the Early Learning programs. As a substitute Teacher, you will also interact with
families and volunteers in support of the children’s learning needs.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with courses in Early Childhood Services or Special
Experience working with young children and their families is preferred
Permanent Teaching Certificate or eligibility for Interim Certificate
Fluency in languages other than English is a definite asset
A Current Childcare First Aid Certificate is required
Salary : $15.67 per hour
