As a member of the Tempest Professional Services team, you will provide training services to Tempest’s clients. This includes formal style classes at client’s offices as well as general training classes held at Tempest and informal or one on one sessions with clients and other Tempest staff. Trainers are also responsible for utilizing in-house and/or developing training materials and resources to meet training needs. Trainers can expect to spend 50% or more of their time away from the office, either traveling or at client sites. The goal of the position is to uphold Tempest’s standards for excellence in customer service. You will be working in a culture of collaboration and creativity. This position is based in Surrey, BC.
The responsibilities for this role also include:
- providing customer care by maintaining regular contact with Tempest’s client community
- assisting the front-line Support staff with customer questions via telephone, email or fax when not actively involved in tasks directly related to training functions.
- Other ad-hoc sales related activities:
o Clerical support for marketing/sales campaigns
o Participate in market surveys and other data gathering activities.
o Assist with client presentation and RFP/RFI responses.
o Assist in trade show and conference preparation.
o Participate in staffing of trade shows
- Provide implementation services once knowledge levels are attained.
- Participate in end user testing and have other input in development projects as required.
- Other duties as required based on department/company needs.

Experience / Skills:
o Excellent customer service skills and prior software training and or support experience.
o Experience using the Tempest software is considered a very valuable asset.
o Excellent inter-personal relationship and organizational skills.
o Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
o Working knowledge of Municipal Government Revenue Services job functions and responsibilities such as:
Land Management (Re-zoning, Subdivisions, Building Permits, BCA / LTO integration with municipality)
Taxes (including Pre-Authorized Withdrawals and Local Improvements)
Utilities Billing (billing for metered sewer and water, garbage and recycling)
Dog and Business Licencing
Municipal Ticketing (bylaw & parking)
Calls for Service/Work Order generation and Cash Collections
o Good PC technical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and typical desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
o A self learner who is comfortable working independently and has the ability to adapt to new or changing software and training methods and rapidly changing priorities.
o An effective problem solver.
o Ability to process complex situations and recognize areas of emerging business opportunities.
o Grade 12 plus supplementary courses or experience in training, preferably in computer software.
o Working knowledge MS-Windows, fundamental concepts of databases (MS-SQL and Oracle), and html would be of value.
