The Opportunity
Using sound managerial, analytical and organizational skills, the primary goal is to lead the Professional Services Group (PSG) in the delivery of superior project management, implementation, training and consulting services.

The goal of the position is to develop and maintain a culture of collaboration, creativity and a passion for excellence in client service, while achieving Tempest’s Triple Bottom Line objectives (Employee Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction, and Financial Satisfaction).

In addition, this position is a member of the Tempest management team and is involved in the annual preparation of budgets, strategic planning activities, monthly status reporting, and quarterly business review presentations. This position will also attend Tempest’s annual conference and will be a liaison between Tempest and its client community.

Our Company
The Tempest Development Group Inc. was formed in 1993. We are a dynamic and fast growing company that develops and sells proprietary land management and revenue collection software to municipalities and local governments. Tempest targets mid to large size municipalities, local government and utilities in British Columbia, Alberta and Washington State. With StarDyne Technologies Inc. acquiring majority interest in July 2005, Tempest was able to implement a strategic plan for growth and focus on operations knowing that financing and capital was secured.

Our extensive suite of products has earned a reputation for flexibility, scalability, and ease-of-use. In addition, our track record for delivering on-time and on-budget continues to set a benchmark in the Software Industry. Tempest is located in Surrey, BC.

Some of the Key Functions of position:

o Supervise and manage the Professional Services staff
o Staff development
o PSG resource allocation/scheduling
o Oversight of the entire post sales client engagement process
o Provide project management and training services for internal project and development initiatives when appropriate.
o Ongoing development of Tempest’s suite of professional services offerings.
o Participation in bid teams/responses
o Responsibility for the daily project(s) progression, associated reporting, implementation activities and customer satisfaction.
o Coordinate post implementation reviews and customer sign off
o Participate in the preparation and or review of business fit analysis documents (both creation and ongoing maintenance).
o Manage all aspects of the PS group’s responsibilities
o Monitor the quality of services delivery and identify problem areas
o Provide annual revenue plan for the PS group
o Report the PS group’s progress to upper management and Tempest staff on a monthly basis
o Prepare a presentation of PS group’s progress for the StarDyne Quarterly Business Review meetings
o There is a 30% billable component to this position

In addition, you possess the following qualifications:

Experience / Skills:
o 10 years of related experience in leadership and management combined with project management
o Professional services industry experience would be an asset
o Local government industry experience would be an asset
o Strong people leadership skills
o Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
o Sound judgment
o Strong client management skills
o High energy level
o Resourceful and well organized
o People oriented with ability to get along with diverse personalities
o Ability to multi-task and prioritize
o Well organized
o Able to work and learn independently as well as in a team oriented environment
o Results oriented

o A degree or diploma in project management would be an asset

Knowledge Base:
o Must have hands on experience delivering project management services in the IT sector and ideally experience in leading and development of a professional services practice

o Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Project Management or related fields.
