The Tempest Development Group (Tempest) is actively seeking a Human Resources Manager. Tempest is a member of StarDyne Technologies Inc. This is a part-time position, approximately 28 hours per week.

The Human Resources Manager reports to the Tempest GM, with a dotted line report to the GM of PAT, and the VP HR StarDyne. The position is based in the Greater Vancouver area.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
− Support and reinforce the Triple Bottom Line – Employee Satisfaction, Client Satisfaction and Financial Satisfaction - in keeping with the core value of fair, dignified and courteous treatment of all employees.
− Provide strategic and tactical leadership and execution in critical business initiatives.
− Assist Management in defining & successfully implementing processes in line with business objectives and participate in strategic talent management/ development.
− Recruit, train, develop and retain personnel.
− Ensure that all employment practices are consistently applied by Management in accordance with HR policies, employment law and regulatory compliance requirements.
− Ensure an efficient system of attracting and pre-screening applicants in accordance with the Recruitment Checklist.
− Full execution of the recruitment process (including job posting, phone interviewing, job interviewing, regular communication with candidates and managers) including recruitment administration.
− Enhance the workplace environment to foster self-reliant, innovative, productive and engaged employees.
− Facilitate resolution with Management regarding performance issues and disciplinary actions.
− Oversee the analysis of termination recommendations and ensure the appropriate process is followed.
− Work collaboratively with staff to ensure that new employees are successfully oriented into the company.
− Assist with annual performance management and merit review/incentive processes.
− Monitor the formal employee recognition programs. Assist Management and Supervisory staff in improving the effectiveness of employee recognition.
− Effectively present critical HR information to audiences at different levels.
− Guide leaders/managers through complex employee relations issues
− Collaborate with the HR Team on development and distribution of annual employee survey/internal pulse check. Work with Management teams to respond to employees, develop action plans around responses.
− Serve on planning and policy-making committees as required.
− Perform other management responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience Required
− Minimum 5 years Human Resource level management experience.
− University degree in business or equivalent experience.
− CHRP designation is preferred.
− 3–5 years of leadership experience.
− Proven experience with successfully recruiting and retaining personnel.
− Demonstrated experience in developing personnel.
− Knowledge and experience in employment legislation and practices.
− Self-starter, able to proactively resolve issues and exercise good judgment, ownership, prioritization and problem escalation.
− Ability to build strong working relationships and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
− Versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
− Strong administrative skills and the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
