The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment and facility within the production plant, warehouse and building facilities.
Education and Experience Required
-High school diploma or equivalent plus a valid Ontario Millwright license (or Journeyman Industrial Mechanic; and/or Industrial Electrician)
-Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, machining, welding, fabrication, rigging, utilities equipment and drafting
-Demonstrated experience in mechanical and electrical trouble shooting and problem solving
-Experience in a production, packaging environment; experience in a chemical or food production plant is an asset
-Experience working in a warehouse environment and fork lift experience is an asset
-Basic knowledge of chemical properties and reactions
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications etc.
-Good working knowledge of computers
-Physical ability to move equipment
-Work is carried out in a plant environment. Continuous exposure to disagreeable elements of the plant such as noise, and occasional exposure to chemicals.
