Overview: Our client in Edmonton has an immediate need for several Contracts Managers. Relocation assistance is available / provided

Things You Need to Have:

At least 8 – 10 years of experience with the formulation, negotiation and administration of complex contractual relationships, or equivalent in experience and education in oil and gas, construction or heavy industry

Formal training in contract law or contract administration

Intimate knowledge of the standards and practices of the oil and gas industry

Must have demonstrated ability to provide leadership, possess management skills and be able to organize, set priorities and handle multiple complex tasks at one time

Must understand client and client organizations, objectives, personnel and environment

Must have strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills

Must have demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and be attentive to detail

Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure against competing priorities and timelines

Significant business experience including the ability to work effectively across different business cultures

Only candidates with service procurement, pre award, post award and claims experience will be considered

Only candidates from oil and gas, construction or heavy industry will be considered

It would be great if you also had:

University degree in engineering, business, finance, law

What you will be doing:

The Contracts Manager will lead the planning, solicitation, negotiation and management of complex services contracts including those for capital projects

Will provide and implement standard industry best practices in all aspects of sourcing, purchasing and contract administration, including the preparation, review and issue of contractual documentation

Implementation of effective commercial measures to facilitate the efficient and well controlled execution of the work under contract

Ensure that practices are in place to identify and minimize liabilities and commercial risks, including the resolution of commercial claims

Oversee and guide the purchasing and contract management function

Lead in the formulation, negotiation, legal review and execution of agreements, contracts, change orders and other contract documentation

Review potential business partners for financial stability and compliance with corporate supplier standards of conduct

Manage and negotiate claims and other legal actions

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, identifying potential contract changes or deviations

Monitor the performance of suppliers in the discharge of contractual obligations and advise the project management of potential problems and opportunities

Conduct their activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards and corporate policies and procedures
