Our client has an immediate opening for Security Specialist to join their Information Technology team. The team provides a full range of network, infrastructure and application support to our internal (office and remote), and external customers located worldwide. Our efforts ensure highly available applications and infrastructure, allowing our customers to operate efficiently, effectively and securely. Just a few of the operating systems, infrastructure, and applications that we support include: Windows, Linux, VMware, NetApp, Cisco and HP routing and switching, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics SL, and NetBackup. We also provision and maintain customer utilized network infrastructure using leading edge satellite and cellular data technologies.
The Information Technology Security Specialist works with IT and other internal teams to design, implement, and monitor security controls and processes for internal and customer facing systems. Initially the role would be more operationally focused and in the longer term would shift to a more strategic focus. The individual should be comfortable supporting internal and external audits for controls such as SSAE16 and CICA 9110. The incumbent will utilize security technologies to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of company information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and provide recommendations on Technical Security standards and system baseline builds.
Strong knowledge of technical security controls and trends in the industry including varied delivery models (on-premise, hosted, cloud)
Solid understanding of, and experience with, enterprise scale integrated IT security solutions such as those involving: multi-site implementation, LAN/WAN/Security inter-operability, dynamic routing protocols, failover and high availability systems
Network security infrastructure (e.g. Firewall, VPN, Network IPS, Web proxy, Email, DLP, AAA) design and architecture
Endpoint security (e.g. AV, HIPS, Firewall, encryption, DLP, etc) design and architecture
Exposure to security analytics and reporting solutions including log management or SIEM
Work with internal teams in the security analysis, design and planning phases of IT related projects
Conduct Technical Security Assessments utilizing security assessment tools
Assist with security incident management and look back reviews
Maintain a Technical security relationship that provides value and efficiency for company success
Maintain expertise in the area of Technical Security including industry trends, strategies, vulnerabilities and threats to ensure the company’s assets are effectively and appropriately secured against current and future threats
Support internal audits for SSAE16, CICA 9110
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Post Secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field would be beneficial
CISSP, GIAC or other relevant certifications
A minimum of 7 years of experience in an information security or system administration role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience building and securing network infrastructure (firewalls, VPN, encryption and cryptography methods)
Experience with risk and vulnerability assessments and countermeasures
Detailed knowledge of information security best practices (CIS, NIST, COBIT, ISO 17799)
Experience capturing business and technical requirements to understand vulnerabilities, threats and probabilities to identify technical risks and provide appropriate level of mitigating controls
Strong foundation in enterprise security including use of formalized methodologies to implement and support a large scale IT security architecture
Proven ability to work well in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
