Tallysman Wireless is a Kanata, ON based leading supplier of enhanced Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) antennas for use on multi-constellational receivers for Beidou (Chinese), Galileo (European), GPS (U.S), GLONASS (Russian) systems for precision location and timing applications, and for and SATCOM systems such as Globalstar™ and Iridium™.
Tallysman Wireless also produces asset tracking and monitoring systems for applications ranging from underground mines and student tracking (using RFID), to vehicle activity management (using GNSS), over Motorola MOTOTRBO, Kenwood NEXEDGE and Tait MPT1327 and DMR radio systems.
Tallysman Wireless is looking for an experienced technologist for development / production of L-band and GNSS applications. The right person will have a background in RF systems.
The duties will include:
- Trouble-shoot production problems,
- Maintain equipment and cycle equipment for PM and calibration,
- Document test and production procedures,
- Undertake bench measurements, eg characterization and qualification of new products,
- Assist antenna range and/or chamber measurements.
This will involve some soldering work with small surface mount devices on the bench, Familiarity with basic lab equipment such as DVM’s and Oscilloscopes etc. is required and knowledge of signal generators, spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers would be a real asset.
Familiarity with basic MS Office software is also important. He/she should be a reasonably well organized person with good written and verbal communication skills.
This position will report to the antenna systems principal engineer, and carries competitive compensation and benefits.
