It's an uneithical business where all they do is terminate people.
Employee (Former Employee) – Toronto – 18 March 2014
This is a broken business where the owners don't have a clue about business. They hire managers to terminate previous managers and it's just a revolving door. They abuse and use employees; they don’t care about customers. Supporting the Children's Wish Foundation is a burden for them. Value Village, Salvation Army and Good Will have absolutely NOTHING to worry about! They’re a complete joke!
Production Worker (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 24 May 2017
I worked here a few years ago and have been reluctant to review the company, but I decided that I will. I've never worked somewhere where there was so much gossip, especially when management does not nip it in the bud. I worked harder than most of my associates that were busy talking about their co-workers, yet I was never good enough.
The managers fail to understand that the reason the turnover rate is so high is because they lack people skills, which is the most important one to master if you want to be a successful manager. All they care about are numbers and quotas being met. That's good management to them. This company will not last much longer if they continue to treat their workers like they do not matter. I left for this specific reason.
Sales Associate and Cashier (Current Employee) – London, ON – 21 May 2017
A wonderful place to work, No complaints, however I believe it should be more than minimum wage for the work being done. And some of the setups of clothing are too full and it makes it difficult to organize and roll racks when they are so full.
Very fun place to work make sure you have goals daily
Worker/ Production Manager (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 15 May 2017
If you like a fast pace work with achievable goals in place, great team, job culture great mix, management interacts well on a day to day basis to their ability. Hardest part of the job is when some team members missing for various reasons sick, vacation, appointments and suddenly having to leave during shift having to pull the work load as a normal day. Enjoyed lunches day off with pay contest between other locations.
Free lunches, Birthday off paid, Manager who cares.
Harassed and let go after 8 years.....worst experience in my working past!
Management (Former Employee) – Hamilton, ON – 24 April 2017
Company quickly went downhill .......upper management destroyed moral and permitted harassment....."open door " policy is an absolute joke......you will quickly learn this place is not at all what it seems.....or what it could be with actual skilled management
Back room and floor (Former Employee) – London, ON – 13 March 2017
Worst management in history ego maniac woman haters. Too much expected for what you make per hour. People crying all the time and quitting. Many false promises to get you to do what they want. Worst company EVER !
Team Member (Former Employee) – Hamilton, ON – 26 January 2017
this company acts like it cares about its employees but really they view them as disposable replaceable and won't hesitate to do so for whatever reason they deem acceptable. communication is lost on everyone. senior employees are rude to new hires and less tenured staff. full timers are rude part timers are lazy. they apply a lot of pressure and high standards for a low paying job and think offering ten cents more for full time people is worth it. employees are discouraged and sometimes reprimanded for using sick days or booking time off. several employees have been reprimanded or terminated for receiving and reporting injuries. secretly shady.
Production Team Member (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 11 January 2017
I've worked here for years and seen the ups and downs. The management team are caring and try to help you be good at your job. There is high turnover but only if you don't like to work in a fast paced environment. If you like to work and want full time, it's a great place!
Fast paced, Good people, Friendly management, Good for the environment, Great discount, FT work, Paid benefits
Anonymous employee (Current Employee) – Brampton, ON – 19 December 2016
It's a dusty place to work in but being a thrift business dust is a part of it and also gloves and masks are provided. It's a Monday to Friday shift in production unless you work on the sales floor. The management is approachable and all work together as a team. You are required to achieve your numbers and goals daily but it's not difficult unless you are lazy and constantly distracted. The benefits are great and all paid by the company. The people are friendly and enjoyable to work with and you always find that something special everyday.
Paid birthday off, regular potlucks, great health benefits and approachable management team.
Production Worker (Former Employee) – Delta, BC – 3 August 2016
I worked in production. Was promised full time. Job wasn't full time. Supervisors and management spend the day walking around and telling everyone to go faster. They hope to get their quota as fast as possible so that they can send everyone home early. So, you hear "I need 250 more items" every day or something like that being harped at you. They time you on every job you do. Literally, you write it down on sheets. The times alloted aren't much. You will spend all day hauling at warp speed for..... minimum wage and so they can cut your hours savung themselves more money. If you ever need time off, you will most likely be denied. Family getting married and need 2 days off? Forget it. If you get sent home sick, you will be forced to bring a doctor note before you can work next. Even if they see you are sick and ask you to go home. Daily, the talk amongst employees consists of griping about how very little they are paid, the way they are talked to by the production supervisor/management, how they can't afford their families because of the lack of hours and they all talk of quitting. This Talize seems to have "hiring fairs" beause so many quit. Bottom line, if you want a job where you are severely overworked, underpaid, can never miss a single day and like getting talked to ignorantly by your bosses, this is the job for you. Why not sell your self respect and dignity for minimum wage?
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Peterborough, ON – 16 June 2016
The management is awful. You're talked down to, treated like you're stupid, and make you feel bad for asking questions. One manager in particular also gives off a sort of frustrated attitude when approached with questions or comments. A lot of employees seemed to have had a problem with one of the managers, of which, they do nothing about.
Company also gives fake promises of promotion within the company. Don't bet on it, they end up hiring people applying from outside the company.
Overall treatment is very poor, and no room for growth.
