LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
Role Description:
Responsible for complete customs compliance within the organization
Negotiate all transportation contracts, customs brokerage contracts. Work with freight forwarders, dedicated milk run carriers, LTL carriers, expedite and air charter companies to coordinate on time delivery
Coordinate the movement of raw materials to 2 production plants from several countries, including Japan, China, Germany, France and Korea
Audit all freight and brokerage related invoices and forward to Finance for payment
Correct all inbound customs entries when errors occur
Report all customer required customs related information – Nafta, NVM, AALA, CAFÉ
Coordinate and lead in all Customs audits – US and Canadian
Actively involved with the implementation of the regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods
Active member of the security team to ensure CTPAT compliance
Responsible for obtaining outside warehousing for the storage of service parts and coordinate the daily delivery of service parts, totes, etc.
Prepare monthly cost reduction reports
Prepare B13’s for export shipments
Prepare inbound container schedules
Prepare monthly freight accrual
Prepare Corrective Action Records for freight chargebacks to suppliers
Maintain various spreadsheets to track freight activity and costs
Complete Power of Attorney documents as required
Set up Premium Freight records for inbound air shipments
Requirements and Specialized Training:
Minimum Community College Diploma or equivalent
P.Log (Professional Logistician) designation or equivalent
Customs and/or Logistics-related courses an asset
Minimum 5 years experience in Customs and transportation position preferred
Must have full and complete knowledge of Nafta rules and regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of border crossing procedures and customs tariff – US and Canada
Demonstrated knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods and CTPAT compliance
Must have demonstrated accounting experience
