Summary of Functions: Under the direction of the Utility or Transportation Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for maintenance and operation, which is associated with the Utility and Transportation Division. Education: Completion of a General High School Diploma or the equivalent. Must have moderate communication skills (i.e. reading and writing skills) including the ability to carry out moderate verbal and written instructions. Valid Class 3 Driver’s License Valid Airbrake Endorsement Duties and Responsibilities: Operates mechanical equipment as it relates to year-round operational requirements. Performs minor maintenance on the equipment such as fuelling, changing oil, greasing, washing, etc. Performs maintenance to Parks and Public spaces , Public works equipment operation Leading a summer parks crew and other related public works and parks duties. Assisting in preparation for special events by erecting decorations, lights (Christmas), flags, banners, etc. Adheres to all safety procedures as required. Take rotational standby (upon completion of probationary period). Willing to work toward required certification levels in Parks/ Road utilities . Performs other related duties as required.
