DISPATCHER – TRUCKS & EQUIPMENT FLEET

TJ’s Oilfield Contracting Limited is urgently seeking to hire Dispatcher – Trucks & Equipment Fleet (Two positions available) which are based at the Maintenance Shop of TJ’s Oilfield Contracting Limited at Janvier, Alberta.
Reporting to the Maintenance Shop Manager, the incumbents in the Dispatcher – Trucks & Equipment Fleet position would coordinate the Trucks & Equipment Fleet to support the various logging, mulching, seismic and construction project sites of the company located in and around Fort McMurray. The Trucks Fleet includes vacuum Trucks, Water Trucks, End-Dump Trucks and Low-bed Equipment Hauling Trucks, while the Heavy Duty Equipment comprises of various equipment related to logging, mulching, seismic and construction. The compensation for this position will be a rate of $25-$30 per hour depending on the level of experience.
Minimum of 2 year experience as a Dispatcher of a Fleet of trucks and equipment in a medium sized organization, 5 years of experience would be an asset.
Effective planning, organizing and implementation skills.
Working knowledge of trucking requirements for logging, slashing, mulching, seismic, construction projects, including procedures and policies.
Possess extensive experience in coordinating dispatch of Trucks & Equipment Fleet by assigning to the concerned truck drivers.
Competency in planning and developing schedules for truck drivers.
Possess a good understanding of the regulatory requirements in context to truck driving e.g. hours of work, overtime limits, logbook, route tracking via GPS etc.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Shop Manager to ensure timely maintenance of trucks.
Minimum High School graduate.
Although, not essential, however, prior truck driving experience with Class 1 Air Break Driving License would be considered an advantage.
Coordinate with Admin. Assistant in context to data entry into DTC, preparation of LEMs for invoicing. Prior experience in coordination of equipment rentals and developing LEMs and DTC for purpose of invoicing would be an advantage.
Ability to operate independently with minimum supervision.
Must possess effective communication and inter-personal skill.
Possess ability to train, mentor and facilitate assigned team.
Possess ability to work under tight deadlines, under pressure and stressful conditions
Responsible to ensure that the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) standards of the company and the clients are met or exceeded
Strong safety orientation and diligent in pro-active identification and resolution of hazards and safety issues
Assist in incident investigations and coordinate with the HSE Department /Field Safety Advisor at the sites.
Promote the Safety Management System and ensure that the truck drivers are filling-out the required documentation related to HSE and regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all the necessary required documentation has been reviewed by the drivers and signed-off prior to beginning the tasks or new jobs.
Any other task assigned by the Maintenance Shop Manager.
Experience and Education Requirements:
MUST HAVE the following to be considered for this position (please note that those applicants who are not in possession of the following valid tickets, will not be considered):

1. Valid Driver’s Licence minimum Class 5.
2. CSTS can be taken on-line through Alberta Construction Safety Association website.
3. Valid H2S Alive by Enform (H2S Awareness is not acceptable).
4. First Aid Standard Course (of two days duration) or higher.
5. WHMIS. WHMIS Training can be provided by the company during Orientation.
6. TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods). TDG Training can be provided by the company during Orientation.
