TJ’s Oilfield Contracting Limited is seeking to urgently hire an experienced Accounts Assistant to be based at its Head Office in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Attractive and competitive compensation package would be offered commensurate to qualifications and experience.
The Accounts Assistant will perform accounting, administrative and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable and receivable in an accurate manner. Perform data entry using related computer based Accounting programs such as Simply Accounting, DTC, Microsoft NAV. Perform general accounting transactions, prepare/receive and review invoices for accuracy, prepare and process accounts payable cheques, posting invoices, prepare and process accounts, follow-up on receivable cheques, perform reconciliation of payments, prepare analysis of accounts, monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date, resolve invoice discrepancies, correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries to maintain vendor filing, produce monthly reports, assist in month end closing and assist the Assistant Financial Controller with any related tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required; Minimum High School Diploma, Post-Secondary certificate or diploma in an Accounting related program is an asset, two to four years general accounting experience, knowledge of general accounting procedures, knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package and good key board/data entry skills is required. Must possess strong customer service orientation skills and a positive “Can Do” attitude along with effective communication and inter-personal skills.

Safety ticket requirements: Since the selected incumbent would be required to visit the project site of the company on a need basis, therefore, the following safety tickets would be required upon hiring:
1. Valid Driver’s Licence (Minimum Class 5) and clean Driver’s Abstract.
2. CSTS/PCST (it can be taken on-line from Alberta Construction Safety Association).
Once the candidate has been finalized for hiring into the position, then the following would be required:
. Current five panel Alcohol & Drug Test Result, must be urine based and completed within one week prior to hiring date at the cost of the applicant.
A clean Driver’s Abstract (obtained within one week prior to hiring date) at the cost of the applicant.
