TFL Industrial is seeking an exceptional individual to join our winning team. If you‘re an outgoing, experienced Shop Foreman seeking long-term, permanent employment, we’d like to hear from you! Please note, this is a Monday - Friday, day shift, with the potential for overtime and on-call.

Location: Edmonton, AB

Job Description

-Fully understands the shop or client drawings before the begins fabrication
-Hold a meeting at the beginning of every shift discussing tasks, safety & quality of work
-Clearly communicates any major issue's one might have had with either the work or an employee to management during a shift
-Clearly communicates all information necessary to one's cross shift supervisor
-Must plan the work in an efficient manner that utilizes the space available to its best potential and minimizes double handling
-Ensure all workers understand the jobs they have been assigned
-Ensure workers have the tools they need to perform the tasks assigned to them
-Ensure workers perform their tasks safely & efficiently
-Ensure workers follow chain of command
-Ensure all workers follow shop rules & regulations
-Ensure all workers adhere to the TFL QC requirements. (ID's, HT #'s, procedure etc.)
-Ensure all parts are dimensionally checked before welding begins. Signed & dated
-Ensure 100% visual is done after welding is complete. Signed & dated
-Ensure the "Daily Assessments" are filled out in full and submitted at the end of every shift
-Conduct new hire performance review
-If doing an hourly job ensure all "Hourly Time Sheets" are completed and submitted either at the completion of the job or the end of every shift to allow TFL to accurately invoice
-Build and maintain relationships with all levels of employees
-Promote and adhere to TFL Industrial Safety Management System

Job Requirements

-5 + years’ experience in a shop setting
-Grade 12
-Trade certificate in Welding, Pipefitting, Ironwork, or Structural Steel & Plate Fitter (Steel Fabricator)
is an asset
-Excellent organizational and time management skills
-Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, QuickBooks & Outlook-Self-motivated and self-confident
-Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively and work well under pressure and tight timelines
-Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
-Understands and demonstrates the willingness to promote TFL Industrial’s vision and values
-A desire to build strong professional relationships
