Title: Senior User Experience Architect

The client is looking for a Senior UX Architect to help us design and build their Internet enabled energy conservation solutions. The Architect’s goal is to own the end-to-end user experience, from the physical devices to the web portals and mobile applications, ensuring that they are best in class, and extremely easy to use. The key to success will be the ability of the candidate to maintain a consistency across all the interfaces that reinforces the brand, creates a strong emotional attachment for the end user, and is easy to use. The UX Architect will report to the VP of Software Engineering, and will interact with R&D, manufacturing, and product managers to conduct user research, testing and optimization of new and existing devices The candidate will operate in an Agile development environment and will be expected to deliver UX feedback on a weekly basis.

What you will be doing:
Creating innovative conceptual interaction design models, especially in early stages when overall direction and strategy is being determined.
Creating user models such as personas to focus efforts in scoping, design, and development.
Developing and documenting detailed user experience specifications and guidelines for highly interactive interfaces.
Architecting consistent information hierarchies and flows adhering to design uniformity within and across projects.
Facilitating requirements meetings, brainstorms, and/or focus groups with stakeholders and users/customers.
Understand branding and marketing concerns to the extent that they impact user experience decisions.
Collaborate with visual designers to create a well-integrated solution
Collaborate with development, and Quality Assurance resources during the development cycle and/or issue resolution process.
Participate in project processes including schedules, meetings, change requests, bug-tracking, scope, resource hours, and deliverables, in conjunction with other team members. Can own responsibilities on projects that are primarily UX-related, such as user research.
Contributing to the further development of user experience design as an intellectual discipline within the organization.
Things you need to have:
University or College degree in a HCI or UCD related field.
5+ years experience as an information architect, interaction designer, user experience architect or similar role.
A portfolio presentation is expected. It must include URLs of websites or samples of user interface design that reflect candidate’s work as well as documentation that led to the site, including wireframes, site maps, navigation flows, interaction design specs, etc.
Solid background with the web and mobile technologies including a basic understanding of the technical systems and architectures which underlie dynamic websites.
Extremely detail-oriented, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with aggressive development schedules
Comfortable with Interaction Design toolkit programs such as InDesign, Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.
Familiarity with conducting or overseeing usability sessions, task analysis, heuristic evaluation, rapid prototyping, persona workshops, and other methods of user needs/ goals analysis
Ability to articulate the benefits of following user-centred design principles and is able to mentor others.
Comfortable estimating time and scope of effort for UX tasks and deliverables
