Position: One (1) TDCSS CLS Community Based Supervisor – Regular Full-Time

Reference Number: 399

Hours: 35 hours average per week ( flexible schedule). This position also requires the successful applicant to participate in an on-call rotation (weekends and stats) and to be on call during the week for their program

Shifts: DAYS, EVENINGS, Nights (WEEKENDS) Hours subject to change without notice

Qualifications

  • This position is not gender specific.

Education:
Required: -A Diploma in a Human Services Field or a minimum of two years of experience working in this field

Preferred: -Diploma or Degree in a field related to working with people with a developmental delay
-Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
-Communication & Teamwork Workshops
-Non-Aversive Behaviour Management or equivalent training
-Training in Program Planning
-Training in Personnel Management
-Training in Non Aversive Behaviour management

Experience:
Required: Proven ability to work as part of a team

Preferred: -One (1) year supervisory experience
-Demonstrated ability to follow through with assigned tasks
-Experience in working with people who have challenging behaviours
-Experience in working with people who have a dual-diagnosis
-Experience in assessment, program design, evaluation, & individual program planning

Skills and Abilities
Required: -Proven ability to initiate problem solving strategies
-Proven ability to liaise with families and outside agencies
-Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated
-Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers and managers
-Demonstrated a high level of commitment and flexibility

Preferred: -Creativity
-Ability to plan & organize work/workspace, keep files up-to-date and organized
Others:
-Meet TDCSS Health Requirements
-Basic First Aid
-Class 4 Driver’s License
-Proven ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint or their equivalent
-Valid Business Insurance
-Use of a vehicle for business purposes (mandatory)

Pay and Benefits will be in accordance with TDCSS and BCGEU Local 312 Collective Agreement. This position requires union membership.
This position requires the successful applicant to be ready and able to work with all persons served and to be able to provide intimate personal care when necessary.
