Our client, a leader in the financial industry located in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Financial Copy Editor for a stockbroking firm to start immediately. This would be a great opportunity for a copy editor or a candidate who is interested in getting into the financial industry or wishing to pursue their CFA.
Pay rate is $19/hr
Hours: 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday - Flexibility to rotate on the evening shift (5pm - 2am) a few weeks per year.
Work location: Convenient access via Union Station
Contract: This position will start off as temporary but will ideally lead to direct hire based on performance.
- working closely with Financial Analysts to review submitted financial articles and print contents for publication purposes. Documents in the form of texts, graphs, charts. Ability to work with documents in word, excel or powerpoint format. (must be proficient)
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy
-Review documents, proofreading, editing contents and uploading information via website as well as accessing documents via emails
-Must have excellent verbal and written English language skills, especially grammar and spelling
-Must be comfortable with numbers as the articles are frequently published with texts as well as charts and graphs with numeric figures
-Ability to apply style guide requirements
-Must be a detail oriented individual with the ability to follow strict processes and procedures
-Ability to concentrate on details of printed text in long, technical documents 20 to 150-pages and/or short documents within 350words for quick edit as needed
-Copy editing experience with a business background is a strong asset
-Eager to learn and keen to research new concepts and have a curious mind
-Strong communication skills to provide professional feedback and critique of work with Financial Analysts
