Synergy Aspen has an immediate opening for a Project Coordinator. This is an intermediate level position where the ideal candidate would have spent a minimum of five years working in Reclamation and/or Remediation. A demonstration of a balance between field and office for a period of three to five years would be a definite asset.
As Project Coordinator, you will provide limited supervision of Site Supervisors or Assistant Site Supervisors and provide technical review to Senior Project staff. You may be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, deliverables and the circulation of corporate communication. Responsibilities combined with advanced field programs, field supervision and/or writing reports can be expected. To ensure you have a direct connection to the field staff, you will be required to work in the field occasionally as your project requires. You will have established a professional level of accountability, demonstrate great work ethic while spewing fun in the workplace with your colleagues.
*Become thoroughly knowledgeable with the project's contract documents, drawings, specifications and scope of work
*Report writing including Phase I, Phase II, DSA and Groundwater Monitoring
*Assist in the development of the project master schedule with input from other project management personnel
*Data management and file compilation
*Write requisitions and purchase orders; follow up with suppliers and expedite deliveries
*Field estimating/change orders as well as change management procedures
*Perform any other job related duty as requested by supervisor/project manager
*Provide leadership in safety and quality performance and ensure due diligence in client, internal practices and regulatory compliance
*Reporting to Project Managers divisional concerns, issues and performance of the project
*Respond to information requests from Estimating in preparation of project bids
*Communicate with the customer during project execution
*Familiar with government regulatory bodies as it applies to the OGC, MOE, etc.
*Maintain billable targets as set by supervisor
*Minimum 5 years' industry experience preferably within environmental consulting and/or upstream oil and gas is an asset
*Excellent computer skills including excel and other Microsoft packages.
*Considerable knowledge of industry-accepted standards, guidelines, procedures, and practices.
*Knowledge of project execution activities such as planning, project controls, scheduling and costing.
*Bachelor of Science in Engineering (environmental, chemical, civil, mechanical, geotechnical), Geology or Environmental Science, or equivalent
*Ability to be registered as a Professional (EIT, GIT, AIT, BIT, CET).
*Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and organizational skills
*Ability to work with intermediate and senior staff and within project teams on various projects of differing complexity
*Willingness to take direction and guidance from a project manager
*Ability to work effectively with environmental subcontractors
*Willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions for potentially long periods at a time
*Willingness to travel and work in potentially remote locations
*Ability and willingness to learn and hit the ground running on a wide variety of projects
