Our clients Land Development/Municipal Group provides a wide range of services for the land development and municipal sector across Western Canada. By working in conjunction with Transportation, Facilities Engineering and/or Geomatics, this group is able to offer innovative solutions to their clients with seamless, one-point-of-contact project management.
They are looking for a Land Development Project Manager for their Fort St. John office who will apply their technical capabilities and previous industry experience to work on diverse projects, varying in scope and size within the local land development industry. These can range from small rural community condominium sites, to large urban subdivisions to complex utility and infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Branch Manager you will be responsible for providing an excellent level of client service by providing design and field coordination support on land development and municipal engineering projects.
Partner and collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions
Create and sustain a strong network in the local business community to be able to identify potential opportunities and trends
Track project budgets and clearly and efficiently communicate to internal management and clients budget status and scope changes, reducing the impact of any project overruns
Prepare and manage the creation of engineering designs to meet contractual obligations and meet/exceed local municipal standards, these primarily will include: concept development, preliminary and detail designs and submittal sets
Prepare subdivision and municipal civil engineering designs in accordance with client and municipal standards
Supervise and administer construction work and work with our clients and contractors
Monitor and coordinate activities on construction projects with contractors, subcontractors, owners, municipalities, and the general public
Our successful candidate will hold either an engineering degree or technical diploma in engineering or applied science with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in land development/municipal projects. You will have a strong technical background in the civil/municipal/ infrastructure sector; with technical expertise in design, construction survey and inspection. In addition you will also have:
Experience in working to deadlines and also be able to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities
Previous experience in the construction industry
Proven success in setting and meeting performance and client standards as well as managing multiple projects; a solid commitment to exceptional client service
progressive design techniques, LEED or otherwise, would be an asset but not required
