Machine Operator Printing Press | Etobicoke, Ontario
Our client is a leader in North America for design, production and printing of thin wall rigid plastic containers for the food and dairy industry. They are looking for a skilled individual - Machine Operator in their Printing department.
3 Positions available: 1 in each shift!
Job Description of the machine operator:
1. Operate Decorating Machines
- Perform job kit verification
- Assist with line clearance
- Do pre-shift tooling checklist
- Make roll changes
- Sanitization
- Restore machine after faults / jams / alarms
- Perform running adjustments
- Assist technicians in troubleshooting / repairs / CI
2. Perform total productive maintenance
3. Monitor Product Quality
- Visually inspects product on the trending tray
- Modify machine parameters to keep quality at standard
4. Perform Product Control Duties
- Update job cards
- Perform inventory control functions
- Enter information on Daily Machine Scheduling and Attainment Board (White Board)
5. Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures
- Never compromise safety
- Treat fellow Team Members with honesty, respect and dignity
- Meet standards of conduct
- Adhere to 5S, SQF and Health and Safety rules
Qualifications of the machine operator:
- Previous experience as a machine operator in the printing press department
- Mechanical aptitude -- a must (screening test will be administered)
- Familiar with basic electrical systems -- a must (practical test will be administered) –a must
- Must be able to use hand tools
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Previous experience operating machines and interfacing with electronic control systems is required
- Work in compliance with the provisions of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
Location: Etobicoke
There are 3 shifts available – 1 in each shift!
1st Shift 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – $20.91 p/hr
2nd Shift 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. – $21.36 p/hr
3rd Shift 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. – $21.46 p/hr
