SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee) –  Windsor, ON3 July 2016
I learned to handle calls to a certain call time, and handle calls with a professional tone. The hardest part of my job was to handle irate customers without escalating to a manager.
Cons
long hours

Only good if you're desperate.
Telecommunications Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Windsor, ON6 July 2013
If you are absolutely desperate for a job, than this job is definitely better than living on the streets. Here you will be on the phones all day (which actually isn't that bad once you get past the whole being yelled at thing) but you will be constantly dealing with poor upper management. I worked in Sales, and the it was extremely organized. You're no longer treated as a person, more like a hog there for one specific purpose, and there is absolutely no such thing as job security. If management doesn't like you (or in some cases if you don't put out) they will find any possible reason to either make you hate your job and have no sanity until you voluntarily quit or just fire you.

The only plus side about working here is the benefits, which you will use. Frequently.
Pros
Amazing benefits, amazing coworkers.
Cons
Poor salary, terrible management, long hours, no sanity.

Even worse. Incredibly boring. And whatever else I need to say to reach the twenty word minimum and then some more. And maybe even more after that.

Tier 1 Technical Support (Former Employee) –  Windsor, ON8 June 2016
When you're not being given the daily dosage of racial slurs or other insults through the phone calls with absolutely bafflingly stupid customers, you're sweating from the lack of proper Air-Conditioning, or worried that your day at work will be your last since the company will let you go for absolutely anything.

Had a customer who decided YOU need to fix their Netflix account, even though the website and service is down for maintenance? You're gone for not helping them enough, even though it's not in your policy.

Nearly died coming back from lunch cause a car almost hit you? You take too many breaks. Bye.

Your computer froze while working on an issue and now you gotta start over, and the customer understands the wait time? You're gone cause you take too long.

Finish an issue too quick? You're not being personal enough with customers.
Pros
You get to go on Reddit all day.
Cons
Everything.

It is good place to work but no further progressions for highly technical people. So for the beginners this company is good but not in the long run. you cannot increase your knowledge.

A good in between job
Technical Support Representative (Former Employee) –  Windsor, ON29 January 2013
Sutherland was a very hectic job with little benefits. The job itself did however teach me valuable customer services skills and I made some great contact and friends that I hope to keep for the rest of my life. Management is very hit or miss. Some are wonderful, hard working individuals. And others give the impression that they simply gave up on the job.

The hardest part of the job was to endure the constant negative aura of your customers and still put on a happy face and provide excellent customer service. With this unfortunate reality I was able to gain far more patience for negative situations which in the end turned a very difficult task into a very rewarding aspect of the job.

The most enjoyable part of the job is with the fast pace, your day goes by very quickly.
Pros
job security
Cons
short breaks, low pay

It is a good company to work for, management friendly and helpful, the job it self is easy however very stressful. It is a routine and repetitive job which try to resolve customers tv, internet and phone issues over the phone. I like the job, but I do believe it should pay more.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Pays too little

full time full benefits, GREAT co-workers, no job security
Technical support / Customer service (Current Employee) –  Windsor, ON16 August 2012
I think Sutherland is one of the best jobs to have in Windsor just because there is nothing else out there with full time, full benefits. The management and fellow co-workers are awsome, that's probably what's kept me there so long. It's an extremely stressful environment, and there is no appreciation of a common agent such as myself shown by the company. For instance, I am an asset in both customer service (shown by excellent feed back statistics) and in technical knolege (shown in above average quality audits) and have been there for almost 2 years now. There is no more job security for me then someone who was hired yesterday. I don't want to work for a Large corporation anymore.
Pros
full time / full benefits
Cons
no job security or appreciation.

Sutherland has a high turn over rate because they need to be less about stats. It is a terribly stressful environment and it is hard to get accommodations.
Pros
Food themed days with free food
Cons
supervisors and managers are not helpful
