Surepoint is currently looking for a Warehouse Operator/ Technician within our Grande Prairie, AB operations.
Reporting the Director of Procurement, the Warehouse Operator/Technician is responsible to accurately managing all shipping, receiving, stocking shelves, inventory, issuing and staging, returns and cycle counting activities.

Specifications:

-Ensuring accuracy is all data entry transactions in all attributes required received and issued.
-Warehouse is kept clean and a safe work environment.
-All shipping and receiving processes and procedures meet general work safety standard requirements, government regulations, and company policies and procedures.
-Will operate all warehouse tools and equipment in a safe manner with a current operating certificate.
-Provide a high standard of customer services in the areas of supply chain activities and customer problem solving.
-Receives all goods/parts and materials according to standard written procedures,
- recording all incoming shipments, checking shipments against purchase orders and verifying contents of shipment against packing slip;
-If required, the goods/parts and materials are kept quarantined for technical inspection for quality prior to acceptance;
-Co-ordinate and manage all returned goods/parts and materials according to procedures determining and recording damaged or faulty items.
-Initiating all supplier claims in a timely manner;
-Ensure all inventoried goods/part and materials and places in designated stock locations in warehouse;
-Fills internal customers’ orders; deliver and stage items to designated locations;
-Maintains good housekeeping and orderliness in the warehouse and in the receiving area;
-Prepares shipping weight bills, TDG documents and shipping plaques;
-Expediting customer orders according to specific time commitments;
-Direct, coordinate and prioritize the overall warehouse activities to ensure the smooth workflow of goods/parts and materials including the managing and tracking of product cores;
-Liaises with freight companies, arranging local deliveries and out-of-town shipments for the best overall costs to Surepoint Group;
-Maintain accurate record and inventory reconciliations.
-Perform physical inventory counts as determined within the warehouse policy; via daily cycle counting or yearly wall to wall;
-Provide effective solutions and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and the optimal performance targets are achieved;
-Monitor and maintain the work environment to ensure all health and safety related regulations are in compliance;
-Operate safely all warehouse equipment and power tools, including fork-lifts – loading and offloading shipments.
T-he warehouse is a non-smoking work area. All hazardous materials must be properly stored; manage all MSDS worksheets.

Qualifications:

-Grade 12 with additional post-secondary education or equivalent experience relating to inventory management is required.
-Minimum 2 years of operating experience with various fork-lift(s) battery stand up, propane or fuel type; must have a valid Fork-lift Operator’s certificate;
-APICS certificate would be considered an asset;
-Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory warehouse management or similar discipline; and
-Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, and/or Industrial background experienced preferred;
-Excellent communications skills both verbal and written;
-Attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills;
-Strong analytical, problem solving, mathematical and sound decision making skills;
-Demonstrated maturity with the ability to self-manage, organize, prioritize and interact well with others/team; strong team player;
-Ability to work with people of all levels within the organization.
-Strong customer services skills;
-Strong work ethic and a positive attitude; ability to adapt to change;
-Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint); and
-Working knowledge of working in an ERP system (Autopoint, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
