The Position

The Financial Controller will develop and implement accounting policies and procedures designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the reported financial results.

Job Components

Provide leadership to the accounting team in executing the new policies and procedures, oversee the operations of the accounting department, manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts, oversee and complete the month end process, ensure invoicing is being done according to timelines and client requirements, manage cash flow through effective Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable management, report to financial institution as required by covenants, work with external accounting firm to complete year end process

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. This position is based out of our Corporate Office in Nisku, AB. Our starting salary is negotiable based on experience with group benefits available after a three month probationary period.

The Individual

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration

Accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA)

Experience

Equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.

Independent/team-oriented worker, self-driven/motivated, ability to multi-task and prioritize work load, organized, well planned, able to meet deadlines on a regular basis, good communication skills (written and oral), attention to detail, accuracy and completeness
