Reporting to the General Manager, the Night Auditor is responsible for all aspects of guest care from the time a guest arrives at the hotel to their departure. Primary responsibilities include registering guests, settling guest accounts upon departure, accepting and entering reservations, and providing concierge assistance.
Assisting guests with arrival (check-in) and departures (check-out)
Responds to all Hotel Switchboard inquiries in a timely manner
Room reservations -- providing accurate information in ensuring the sales of room inventory to maximize hotel revenue and to meet set hotel targets
Reconciliation of day's activity at night.
Settling guest accounts through the different accepted payment methods
Responsible for all aspects of the Front Desk and the hotel while on shift
Ability to handle guest queries and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction within hotel policies
Working with various technical systems, including the Property Management System
Providing Concierge assistance
Bell Services duties including checking/retrieving guest baggage/belongings, tending to guest room requests, etc.
Administrative duties including data entry and filing
Adherence to Hotel Safety & Security procedures
Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment.
Work Conditions/Physical Capabilities:
Fast paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling guest luggage, attention to detail, combination of standing, walking, standing for extended periods of time, multi tasking. The shift hours would be 11pm to 7am
This will be permanent, full time position with vacation pay at $11/hr
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent is usually required.
- Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, or a college program in front desk operations or hotel management will be an asset
