Our client, a medium-size law firm, is looking for a full-time bookkeeper. This is a full-time, permanent job. Experience in Trust Accounting and knowledge of PC Law software is required.
Deposit of trust funds and verification of electronic trust deposits with banks;
Arrange the opening and transfer of funds to interest bearing accounts when required;
Issue cheques according to trust reconciliation statements;
Daily and monthly reconciliation of trust account balances;
Monthly interest statements to clients and follow ups;
Assist with estate reconciliations when necessary;
Prepare wire transfers as per Law Society rules;
Prepare TAF remittance;
Yearly preparation of The Law Society Report;
Yearly letters to all banks for CDIC reports;
Yearly preparation of T3 returns as necessary;
Maintain updated knowledge of The Law Society Trust Accounting rules.
Process billings and pay balances due from trust accounts is applicable;
A/P, A/R and bank deposits;
Payroll and Benefits Administration;
Prepare HST remittances and yearly WCB report;
Preparation of financial statements and bank reconciliations;
Greet clients and sign for couriers as required;
Answer general phone and inquiries;
Forward faxes electronically;
General office duties;
Maintenance of PC Law software.
