StyleScribbles is a Toronto based fashion and lifestyle blog, we are in the process of starting our own womenswear line for the Toronto up market boutiques.
Winter Internship Details:
Start date- Dec 2012 (holidays incorporated into the internship program)
We are looking for a fashion design student, who is dynamic, hard working and excellent at pattern making. We will be providing you with a great reference at the end of the internship and you will in turn get a first hand experience at working for your own label.
We give credit to all our interns, wherever possible.
As a pattern making/ grading intern, you will learn the key skills of transferring a design from an idea to a pattern. You will learn how to decipher a sketch and how to take fabrics and sizing into consideration while grading.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We need you to work 10-12 hours a week, We are looking for someone, who can visit the office 1-2 days per week. You can take work home and do it at your own time/ space.
We will be giving the sketches with specs to follow, you will need to pattern make and grade the same. We work with 2-3 garments per week and you will be required to keep up with the pace.
We do consider flexibility in your schedule and you can work completely out of your home/ college and only visit our office when neccessary.
This is a 2-3 month long unpaid internship and at the end of the internship we review your work and can offer a paid part time job with a 3 month probation period.
At the end of the internship, you will need to show:
15 sketches- pattern made and graded according to our standards
10-12 hours of work/ week
We will provide you samples/ work that you can add to your portfolio and will give references for future employment.
