Job Purpose Summary: To provide HR guidance and support to management and staff on initiatives including, but not limited to: performance management, recruitment, succession planning, and using metrics to develop proactive business solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Management and Employee Support:

  • Contributes to the business strategy by helping managers and supervisor to identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviours, structures and processes
  • Supports and coaches managers in areas of performance management, succession planning and employee development, providing recommendations to resolve and/or proactively address workforce performance and succession issues
  • Responds to enquiries from employees, providing clarity and/or coaching regarding recruitment and performance management processes, succession and career planning, and other HR programs

Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention programs that identify potential labour markets, attract potential employees and retain current employees.
  • Manage open job postings.
  • Manage and sort applicant database.
  • Coordinate and conduct candidate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Post job ads approved by the Hiring Manager.
  • Prescreen, book candidates in for interviews, reference checking and book flights for candidates to come to the interview when is necessary.
  • Proactively builds relationships with managers and supervisors to understand their recruitment needs and provide tactics, strategy and thought leadership in the delivery of a customized recruitment solution

Administration Support

  • Provide routine Human Resources information to employees and leadership team.
  • Create and Maintain a HR filing system such as personnel files;
  • Coordinate performance management process - schedule round tables, follow up, etc.
  • Opportunity to create and develop HR processes such as HR forms and communication, facilitate orientation for new hires.
  • Perform other related administrative support as required

Required Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years HR Generalist or related experience.
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred.
  • CHRP certified or be working towards certification.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Highly committed individual with passion for people and doing what is right for the company.
  • Employment Standards act., Human Rights act;
  • Knowledge of union collective agreements

Required Skills:

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to carry through with professional development.
  • Strong team player with excellent team building skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment and computer software programs i.e., Word; Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and follow direction
  • Ability to carry through with professional development.
