A local Vineland restaurant is currently looking for a candidate to fill in our position of "sous chef" or "assistant kitchen manager". The position entails the following:
-Work directly with head chef and perform duties of head chef in his/her absence
-Assist head chef with schedule making, product ordering, menu planning/costing, inventory, cost controls.
-Assist head chef in maintaining exceptional hygienic and sanitary standards.
-Oversee kitchen staff, product rotation, and equipment upkeep.
-Ensure all tables are served in a timely fashion whilst maintaining quality standards.
-Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills
-Thorough knowledge in all areas of cuisine including protein, stocks, sauces etc.
-Safe food handlers certificate
-Completion of W.H.M.I.S. training
-Chef training certificate/diploma from recognised post secondary institution
-Minimum 1 year managerial position in hospitality industry
