DESCRIPTION:
Oversee assigned projects from concept to completion
Work with all other departments and vendors to design innovative equipment
Development and analysis of mechanical and structural drawings, data sheets and specifications.
Choose proper materials and supplies for designs, ensuring costs are always considered
Work with vendors to obtain product details, pricing and lead-times
Actively participate in projects throughout manufacturing
Ensure sales, operations and procurement are informed of budget or lead-time constraints
Work with operations staff to increase project manufacturing efficiency and ensure operations staff clearly understand the intended manufacturing process
Ensure drawings are reviewed, stamped and/or sign off by a qualified engineer and specifications required for manufacturing
Development of accurate project BOM’s in accordance with the Company’s internal numbering systems and in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements
Review other engineering staff projects and provide input and guidance
Identify, and implement improvements to equipment design
Support sales as required
Review sales specifications when requested to ensure engineered designs are within contractual agreements
Ensure all assignments meet schedule and budget
Provide project schedules to management
Ensures all technical information and hours worked are documented and fully allocated to corresponding work orders for weekly submission
Provide schedule updates and progress status of assigned projects to management.
Work closely with the Project Management and Purchasing Departments and assist in determining time lines, approach and cost-effective options

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering and design of large-scale oilfield equipment. Experience engineering and designing coil tubing and related equipment will be considered an asset
Advanced skills in Auto Desk Inventor and Solidworks
Advanced engineering and design skills
The ability to coordinate technical and engineering support with customers and other departments
Awareness and adherence to ISO quality standards and requirements.
Superior organizational & communication skills. The ability to coordinate technical and engineering activities including prioritization of work and rapid response to critical issues
