The Design Engineer is part of the designing and drafting team and is responsible for creating 3D models of equipment and engineering drawings for shop production to meet project requirements. This position requires the advanced knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations as well as manufacturing processes, dimensioning and tolerances, general properties and usability of various materials and applying best practices in the design process. This position will also be required to review designs and drawings made by others for accuracy and completeness; liaise with other departments; spend a balanced amount of time between the floor and the office; and attend project related meetings as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

-Analyze design and production goals that meet performance objectives and adhere to a high standard of fit, function, appearance and quality;
-Develop product designs that work with manufacturers;
-Develop BOMs making sure that parts and components are available and can be purchased and received in timely manner;
-Ensure the designed products are in accordance with industry standards and regulations;
-Contact and communicate with 3rd parties and vendors to ensure quality of the product being designed;
-Do all of the efforts in order to meet deadlines;
-Provide support and guidance to less experienced staff;
-Provide engineering support to fabrication, operation and sales on projects as delegated by Engineering Manager;
-Thoroughly following company adopted standards;
-Participate in engineering meetings as required.

-A Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution;
-Registration or an eligibility for registration with APEGGA;
-5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas industry, specifically Coiled Tubing Units and/or Wireline;
-Proficiency in 3D modeling, advanced skills in Autodesk Inventor,Pro-E, Solidworks, or similar;
-Excellent understanding of engineering concepts and industry standards requirements;
-Ability to communicate with customers and other departments;
-Excellent organization and communication skills
